SPPL (Spanish Professional Paintball League)

Mercury Paintball is proud to announce Sponsorship of the Spanish Professional Paintball League SPPL. and on the 14th  June will host the 2nd leg of the competition, the first time a national paintball competition has been held in Málaga. DRAXXUS. The best paintballs in the world will be readily available at all the events

We are also extremely pleased to announce that we have been instrumental in  signed the UK Refs for the SPPL 2008 season. The UK Refs will be shadowed by their Spanish counterparts who a the end of the season will receive the coveted EuroRefs qualification. The UK Refs are an independent group of paintball referees who have extensive experience at the highest levels of tournament play.

They pride themselves on ensuring fair play for all teams and have the experience to handle all eventualities during the game.

They  work in Europe and the USA. They have worked with PSP for the last five years and are the only European group of refs who continue to be invited for the World Cup.

In the Millennium Series,  individual members of UK Refs have worked at the highest level at the events including ultimate on the CPL field.

The PALS series in Asia - in fact they helped at the very first event, the Nations cup in Malaysia in 2004 where they supplied the field and event Ultimate's.

The have also supported the Guam Paintball League in the south pacific and did the “Pacific All Star Paintball Tournament” on the island in 2005 and returned in 2007 to help start the Guam Xball League with great success.

To date in 2008 they have already  agreed to send refs to three UK Tournament Leagues including the Paintball Association Xball League, two PSP Xball events in the United States, events in Philippines and Guam and also it is a great honour to also be invited to attend the SPPL Spanish League.

Russell Smith is a founder member and organiser of the UK Refs and also a senior member of the English paintball association and helped develop and introduce the ramping rule to the world of tournament paintball.

He has been refereeing and running tournaments for over fifteen years.

None of the UK Refs play paintball except at a casual level and most believe Xball is the best format in Sup-Air and everyone of them agrees that good quality paint hurts less.
